Electro Crossbelt Magnets
45 OCW 30 oil cooled Electro Magnetic Crossbelt. For the Plastics Industry. Suitable for use over a 900mm (35.43") wide belt, with a product depth of less than 150mm (5.91"). The Crossbelt produces in excess of 485 Gauss at the belt surface when installed at 250mm (9.84”) height). Designed to handle up to 15 TPH of shredded plastics and capture tramp metal varying from .1- to 5 lbs. Full set of guards provided to prevent access to magnet and belt when in operation. Also features continuously rated oil immersed transformer rectifier to convert the 460V, 3Ph, 60Hz AC supply to the necessary DC current required for magnet operation.
Bunting Magnetics Co. Crossbelt Design Features:
Magnet System: Specially designed by computer to maximize efficiency, is made up of a mild steel core wound with Nomex covered aluminum wire. The magnet system is totally immersed in oil to ensure maximum heat dissipation and minimum temperature rise. Special ducts in the winding allow the oil to circulate within the windings and therefore allow greater heat dissipation compared to other magnet designs. Insulation is above class ‘H’. Magnet system is mounted onto a heavy-duty back plate and enclosed with thick steel side poles to provide optimum magnetic power directed at product stream and protected with an 8mm thick manganese base plate to reduce impact damage.Cooling: Mineral based transformer oil to BS148:1998, Class 1 and IEC 296/1982 for both magnet and transformer.
Expansion Tank: Fitted to the magnet at high level, incorporating filler, breather and oil level sight glass.
Discharge System (Electric): A shaft mounted worm geared motor unit, fitted with electric motor, drives the 3-ply rubber belt with 5 and 1.5mm covers, fitted with vulcanized wiper strips to enable efficient material discharge
Guarding: Mild steel mesh guards fitted to topside of magnet and enclosing bottom pulleys to prevent access to the belt when in operation.Crowned pulleys: To reduce tracking issues with the belt.
Substantial Framework: Welded construction provided with eyebolts for customer’s suspension slings.
Finish: All steel will have one coat primer and two coats of RAL 5019 high performance alkyd enamel.
Transformer Design Features:
Transformer: Double wound transformer to BS EN 60076 in a fully welded steel enclosure to IP65, with bolted lid for access to oil and components. Oil level gauge fitted to front of tank and drain plug provided for oil change.
Terminals: Incoming AC and outgoing DC terminals are located in the terminal chamber on the front of the tank. Taps are located inside chamber to change outgoing DC voltage by ± 5%.
Rectifier: Silicon diode, full wave bridge connected rectifier, stack mounted on an aluminum heat sink to BS 4417 ABCD.
Protection: Diode protection with fast acting semi-conductor fuses. Surge suppression fitted to protect diodes against surges from magnet coil upon switch off.
Finish: Epoxy powder coated blue finish.

Grate Magnets
Bunting® Grate Magnets / Hopper Magnets provide a properly configured, high-density magnetic field to trap and hold ferrous fines, fragments, and small metal objects as product flows through them. Stainless steel tubing and frames are welded into strong, integral units. They can be installed – or simply laid – inside hoppers, housings, and bins – and easily removed for cleaning. Grates are built for low-abrasion applications and should measure at least twice the size of your outlet opening, so as not to restrict product flow.

Magnetic Head Pulleys
Made to Order, 3-4 week lead time
Radial and Axial Pole Magnetization
Magnetic head pulleys are a convenient and reliable solution to separate ferrous metal from non-ferrous material within your product stream. Also known as pulley separators or magnetic conveyor pulleys, they are easy to install and require minimal maintenance and cleaning. Used at the discharge end on belt conveyors, magnetic head pulleys provide maximum continuous protection against ferrous tramp metal in the processing of materials including recycled products, chemicals, food, grain, plastics, coal, and more.
These magnetic head pulleys feature stainless steel shell construction and come standard with ceramic magnets. Rare earth magnets are also available upon request. Pulleys are available in diameters of 6?, 8?, 10”, and 12?. Widths range from 14” to 38”. XT Hubs and bushings are standard.

Torpedo In-line Magnets
Torpedo in-line magnets benefit plastics manufacturers by removing tramp metal from product flow before the product reaches equipment such as plastic molding machines. This protects other equipment in your facility from the devastating damage that metal contamination in plastic can cause.
Torpedo in-line magnets attract and hold ferrous tramp metal contamination using powerful neodymium rare earth magnets. They are easy to install and clamp directly into flexible hoses to capture ferrous tramp metal from bins, hoppers, and gaylords. The unwanted metal is pulled from the product line without the material flow being impeded. Torpedo In-Line Magnets feature space-saving design making them a perfect choice where overhead space is limited. Bunting Torpedo in-line magnets have a holding force of 6.1lbs.
Cleaning torpedo in-line magnets is fast and easy. Simply disconnect the quick-release tri-clamp fitting to separate one half from the other and wipe the tramp metal down the cartridge and off the end. The precision designed housing is designed for leak-free operation, easy cleaning, and frequent inspection.
Torpedo Magnets are available in the following standard sizes:
• TIM-15 – for use with 1.5 Inch Tubing
• TIM-20 – for use with 2 Inch Tubing
• TIM-25 – for use with 2.5 Inch Tubing
• TIM-30 – for use with 3 Inch Tubing
• TIM-40 – for use with 4 Inch Tubing

Tube Magnets
Tube magnets are a powerful and simple magnetic separation solution. Available in ceramic, high-intensity neodymium, and power-balanced neodymium, tube magnets may also be described as “magnetic rods” or “magnetic cartridges.”
Tube magnets allow you to enjoy versatile installation options and superior magnetic separation performance. Their powerful magnetic fields excel at attracting and holding multiple sizes of ferrous metal contamination, from very fine and small particles to larger pieces of tramp metal and debris. The magnetic strength of our tube magnets also prevents wipe-off, meaning you do not have to worry about contamination re-entering your product flow.
Our standard tube magnets are 1” in diameter and available in lengths from 4” to 24”. To boost durability, end plugs are fully welded into the tough 1” diameter tubing.
When installing tube magnets, the cartridge center-to-center distance between trays should not exceed 2”.
Bunting Tube Magnets are tapped on both ends with a 1/4"-20UNC thread.
