Alnico Pot Magnets

Pot magnets are designed so that a permanent magnet is encased within a steel shell. This steel shell, or pot, increases the holding strength of the magnet contained inside of it. The steel shell also protects magnets from chipping or cracking. The steel shell concentrates magnetic force on one side of the magnet, which greatly increases its gripping force. Because of this, pot magnets are used in many gripping, holding, and clamping applications.

If inches are your preferred unit of measurement, you’ve come to the right place. BuyMagnets.com offers alnico pot magnets as small as 0.25” x 0.5”, and as large as 1.25” x 1.375”, with many sizes in between. Alnico pot magnets can withstand temperatures up to 1000°F, but perform best at temperatures below 800°F. To get the best performance out of these alnico pot magnets, be sure to insulate them when they are installed in ferrous materials and mount these magnets with nonferrous fasteners. This will prevent holding value drops from occurring.

Our deep alnico pot magnets are designed with a tapped hole and an internal threaded mounting type. Making a fixture magnetic is easy with deep alnico pot magnets. All you need to do is drill a flat-bottomed hole followed by a central fixing hole, push the magnet in, then tightly secure with a cap screw beneath. If desired, the magnetic face of the magnet can be ground flush with the fixture’s surface.

    Alnico Pot Magnets, Shallow

Working in a tight spot? Shallow alnico pot magnets give you the strength and heat-resistant characteristics of alnico in a space-saving package. Capable of operating at temperatures up to 932°F, or 500°C, shallow pot magnets bring the heat and lose the bulk. They are designed to facilitate easy mounting and long-term reliability.
