Alnico Magnets derive their magnetic properties and their name from their main elements – aluminum, nickel, and cobalt. They have the widest range of temperature stability of any standard magnetic material. Up to 1000°F, Alnico magnets will maintain about 85% of their room-temperature magnetic properties. Other characteristics include high induction as well as relatively high energy. Alnico magnets are manufactured using a powder metallurgy process (sintered alnico) or a foundry process (cast alnico). Common applications include; electric motors, electric guitar pickups, microphones, sensors, and loud speakers.
